Easter Brain Breaks
Spring Fever is very real! At this time of the year, children need as many chances as possible to get their wiggles out. Young children have anywhere from a 5 to 15 minute attention span. So, they need opportunities to dance, sing, wiggle, and reset their brains. I found lots of Easter songs and videos that are perfect for little learners. I also created a few Easter brain breaks for the preschool and kindergarten classroom. Keep reading for some fun ideas!
Teacher Approved Easter Brain Breaks
These Easter Brain Breaks are teacher and parent approved. Some of them teach important skills or concepts, and others are just plain fun! I like to schedule a 10 minute Music and Movement segment two or three times a day. Schedule these brain breaks in the middle of your academic activities to give children a chance to rest and recover. They’re also perfect after nap time when you need children to wake back up. We even include a few fun songs during our morning circle time to get us energized for the day ahead! No matter how or when you use them, these teacher approved Easter brain breaks will be the perfect addition to your classroom!
Teacher Approved Easter Brain Breaks – Songs
The Bunny Goes Hop is a great math song since students focus on making AB, ABB, AAB, and ABC patterns.
The Bunny Hokey Pokey is a new twist on an old favorite! Instead of putting their head in, students put their bunny ears in!
Every little learner loves a Freeze dance! The Easter Bunny Dance and Freeze song is a class favorite.
We love the Bunny Boogie! It includes a fun story about Easter egg hunting.
Yoga activities are one of my absolute favorites in the classroom! The Bunny Bounce video includes yoga.
The Easter Bunny Bop has lots of fun surprises that kids will love!
Here’s another old favorite repurposed for Easter! Kids will fall in love with Easter Boom Chicka Boom.
Teacher Approved Easter Brain Breaks – Activities
Do EGG-cercises! Place each activity card in a plastic Easter egg. Then, place the eggs in an egg carton and add a fun label. You can do the egg-cercises all at once, or have a student choose an egg at different times throughout the day. Read the EGG-cercise, and guide children in completing it! Your little ones will absolutely love this fun Easter brain break!
Play The Easter Bunny Says instead of Simon Says. Read a series of commands using the opening phrase “The Easter Bunny says…” Periodically, omit the phrase. If children do something without the Easter bunny telling them to, they’re out. Kids LOVE this fun Easter brain break.
