One Month of FREE Preschool Homework Printables that Busy Teachers will Love

Are you looking for preschool homework printables that are quick, meaningful, and family-friendly? You’re in the right place!

Whether you’re getting ready for back to school or just trying to strengthen the connection between home and classroom, this free preschool homework sampler packet is the perfect starting point.

It includes a full month of developmentally appropriate homework pages that reinforce early math, literacy, fine motor, and name-writing skills—without overwhelming students or parents.

Why Use Preschool Homework Printables?

Let’s be honest: traditional worksheets don’t always work in a preschool setting. We’re talking about squirmy, wiggly, wonderful little humans with short attention spans and developing fine motor skills.

So when it comes to homework, we need something that’s developmentally appropriate and fun—something simple, skill-focused, and easy to implement for both kids and their grown-ups.

That’s exactly why I created these preschool homework printables. They’re short, sweet, and designed to support—not stress—your families. And they’ve become a beloved part of my classroom routine.

Each weekly homework page includes:

  • ✏️ Name-writing practice (with room to trace or write independently)

  • 🔠 Letter or number recognition tasks

  • 🎲 Quick math and literacy skills practice

  • 🎨 Coloring or fine motor practice

It’s all there on one double-sided page per week, so it’s simple to prep and easy for families to manage.

What’s Included in the Free Preschool Homework Sampler?

This free printable packet gives you everything you need to test-drive my full-year homework system—risk-free.

  • ✅ A Parent Note that explains the routine and reassures families

  • ✅ A Skills Summary showing which concepts are covered in each 9-week set of the complete homework packet

  • ✅ The first 4 weeks of homework pages, completely free

Each sheet is clearly numbered in the top corner, so you always know what week it corresponds with.

It’s an easy, organized way to build a weekly homework habit that is purposeful and sustainable.

How I Use These Preschool Homework Printables in My Classroom

In my classroom, I send home one page each week—copied front and back—starting the very first week of school.

Each side of the homework printable includes short, nightly tasks that students can complete Monday through Thursday. The sheet comes back to school on Friday.

It takes just a few minutes for students to complete each night’s task, and families tell me they really appreciate having a chance to learn about and practice the skills I’m teaching in class.

On Fridays, I glance over each child’s paper—not to assess or grade it, but to get a quick snapshot of their:

  • ✏️ Name writing and letter formation

  • 🎨 Fine motor progress through coloring

  • 💡 General understanding of the weekly skill

Some teachers like to add stickers or small rewards for completed homework

I keep it simple—a smile, a high five, and a “thanks for showing me your work” goes a long way with preschoolers.

Families Ask for These Preschool Homework Pages!

I’m not exaggerating—when we take a break from our homework routine (like during a short week), I’ll often have parents asking, “Where’s our homework?”

They want this connection. It helps them:

  • Understand what their child is learning

  • Support early academic growth in a fun way

  • Build a few minutes of learning and connection into their evenings

In fact, here’s what I include in my parent note:

“These preschool homework printables are completely optional. If your child is too tired or your evening is busy, please don’t stress! But many children look forward to this time with you—and it’s a great way to reinforce what we’re learning in class.”
