First Day of School Gifts

Most teachers look forward to creating some kind of welcome gift for their students.  The gifts have to be budget friendly because….we’re teachers!  And we have to buy MULTIPLES.  So, saving money is a must.  It’s definitely a plus when the gifts are cute and functional.  Over the years, I’ve stopped giving candy or food treats for the first day.  I simply don’t know enough about my students’ allergies to make that kind of decision yet!  I  definitely want the back to school gift to be something every little learner can use and enjoy.   I finally found the perfect first day of school gift for my students, and I think you’ll love giving it to your students as well!

Sunglasses Make the Perfect First Day of School Gift

I scour the dollar store or Target Dollar Spot for the cutest sunglasses I can find and stock up–especially when they’re on clearance.  Or you can always grab kids’ sunglasses in bulk  on Amazon.  I get a mix of styles, colors, and designs…including several neutral or plain ones.  Then, I print out some adorable gift tags to attach to the shades, and my first day of school gifts are ready to give!  I always try to make sure the sunglasses are child-sized because I teach Pre-k.  Parents love this gift because it’s something  useful and isn’t just more JUNK!  Kids love the gift because they feel “cool” in their new sunglasses.  And, teachers love this gift because it’s quick, easy, and cute!

Printable Gift Tags for Open House or Back to School
