5 100th Day of School Activities
I love to do activities centered around the number 100 throughout the day on the 100th day of school. Here are just a few activities you can sprinkle into your day.
1. Make a Gumball Machine with 100 gumballs
All you’ll need for this craft is my FREE printable template, a white paper plate for each student, and either dot stickers or bingo paint dabbers. Students will have a ball counting to 100 in groups of ten.
2. If I had $100 Writing Prompt
It;s always so funny to see what students imagine they could buy with $100. Of course, the younger students have no concept of $100 or the cost of real items, so you should get a few laughs when you read students’ responses on this writing prompt!
3. Writing to 100 Chart
I’ve included 3 different versions of this chart for easy differentiation. Students can be challenged to write EVERY number from 1 to 100. Or, you may want to give students who need just a little bit of help the chart that has some random numerals filled in. For the least challenge, have students either touch and say each numeral as they count on the last chart…or have them trace each numeral.
4. Flip a Coin 100 Times
It’s always fun to have students make a prediction prior to beginning this activity. Do they think HEADS or TAILS will win? Post the heads and tails color chart on the board for students to refer to as they flip the coin and color a square. At the end of the activity, when all squares have been colored in, challenge students to count how many HEADS (red) and how many TAILS (blue) they landed on! See if their predictions were correct.
5. My Self Portrait at 100 Years Old
Have students draw what they would imagine themselves looking like at 100 years of age. Encourage them to add details, including a setting, to their picture.
100th Day of School Craft
I love having students create this craft for the 100th Day of School. It includes a fun little writing prompt and makes the cutest bulletin board display. Best of all? The packet doubles as a Grandparents Day craft in case you want to use it then as well! You can check it out HERE.
