Are you looking for fun ways to teach your students how to compose sentences? Not just ANY sentences–but sentences with lots of details? I have three fun resources you might enjoy using in your classroom!
Teach your students how to stretch out their sentences using my Sentence Stretchers Activity! Students receive a picture prompt (if needed) and then fill in the various parts of the sentence. We completed several examples on the board as a class so they could get the hang of it! Then, they got a page from my Sentence Stretchers unit to try on their own. I was amazed by their creativity and the details they added!
Another SUPER FUN activity is to spin a silly sentence or story! Simply give students a paper clip and pencil along with one of my prompt pages and have them spin to randomly select a character, a setting, and an action! The possibilities are endlessly fun–and FUNNY. I promise you’ll hear the joyful sound of giggling during this writing exercise!
Or, use these large spinners at a Writing Center for students who are stumped at Writing time!
