We had so much fun making plural noun pepperoni pizzas today!
We started by sorting words into singular or plural categories and writing the plural nouns on a giant piece of chart paper pizza that I drew! We talked about how some plural nouns are easy to spot because they simply have an added -s (like dogs, cats, and cars.) BUT some plural nouns are a bit trickier–or irregular (like mice and children).
One little sweetie even said:
Another fun thing is to sort the noun cards into two small pizza boxes, one labeled singular nouns and the other labeled plural nouns.
Then, students set about making their own plural noun pepperoni pizzas. They could only add the pepperonis that had plural nouns. They also got to decorate their pizzas with any other topics they wanted to use!
To top it off (pun intended!!!) we snacked on pepperonis while we worked!
