I was so excited to discover a resource I was completely unaware of while browsing on Pinterest. Have you heard of EPIC! for Educators?
Epic! provides an unlimited selection of eBooks that can be instantly discovered, read and shared with friends. Personalized for each individual reader, Epic! is the only place to access thousands of high quality, curated children’s books without the need to purchase or download them one by one. Beautifully designed for mobile and featuring fun, game-like elements, Epic! provides kids with a personal library they can take anywhere. In a world of unlimited screen time, Epic! is a smart alternative to games and videos. Epic! is available on all iOS and Android devices.
There are thousands of high quality books. The books are organized by categories like Fantasy, History, Mystery, Science and Nature, Adventure, and More!
Epic can be used on desktops, laptops, IOS, and Android devices. Think Ipads during Daily 5! Think Smartboard during whole class read alouds. The possibilities are endless!
Best of all? Epic is FREE for teachers and librarians. Yup…you heard that right!
Another cool thing about Epic is that you can search by title, keyword, or author. For instance, if you’ll be teaching about the Arctic in January simply search and see what books you can uncover. Epic features lots of fabulous nonfiction titles! The only con I see so far is that many of the most well-known and popular titles are not available. However, you can greatly expand your classroom library and your students’ home libraries for FREE just by creating an educator account and setting up your students on your account. I’d say that’s a definite WIN!

By the way, I was not contacted by the company or asked to write this post. I simply fell in love with this fabulous resource and wanted to be sure you all knew about it!
